Bridgestone RunFlats.....
So, I discovered a nail in my passenger rear tire.....
I dont know much about tires, so, I took my vehicle in to Firestone to see if the tire would be repairable and one of the representatives said run flats cannot be repaired and must be replaced...he quoted me $490.00 for ONE (1) tire...does this sound right?
-thanks

If it's just a nail in the tread and you haven't driven it without pressure, then just have it plugged. Otherwise it needs to be replaced.
Buy a tire from tirerack and have your dealer put it on (or ask tirerack for an installer)

My wife asked me what a dash light indicated, as it had been on for a week or two. There was a screw in one OE runflat. I then made the mistake of having Lexus fix it during the 1000 mile service. They patched it (not plugged) but charged $80.

Mushroom Patch
The right way to fix a tire is both patch AND plug -- it's called a mushroom patch, and looks like, well, a mushroom -- a patch with a long stem. The tire is prepped, the stem is pulled from the inside to the outside, the patch is set, and the excess stem is cut. I had it done on my factory runflat for $20 at a local tire shop (not a chain store).
