I am considering buying an 02 with the navigation system. The door goes up automatically when I turn the key and goes down when I turn it off. Is there a way to make it manual? Just using the buttons on the dash. I don't want the LCD screen displayed all the time. If it is automatic, why are the up and down button there?

My wife has a 2003 and her nav door doesn't open when she starts the car. It stays closed until she wants to use the nav screen. So unless this is something particular to an '02, I don't think this is normal.

If you close the door, it will stay closed till you hit open again. If you leave it open, it will open the next time you start the car.
