Default Losing weight...

Yes, the SC430 should go on a diet.

So, any suggestions? Recommendations?

Any successful mods that can shed maybe 200 lbs off the car (without costing thousands of dollars)?

LET'S HEAR YOUR IDEAS...

My SC430 is down to ~3620 pounds already...my goal is 3400. I've been accurately keeping a weight diary for my car, with each weight reduction being recorded on a scale that measures to a tenth of a pound. Once I get to that figure, I'll post exactly what I did to get there. But as you can see from my sig, I've done alot of mods and most of them were done specifically to shed off pounds.

And yes, I can tell a huge difference in the handling of the car.

There are actual instructions on how to do it in the manual. They show it just in case the convertible motors give out.

I guess it's a possibility if we ever have a desire to take the car to the track...

if you can find a used set of coilovers, that's probably 100 lbs right there.

You can save 25 lbs each with coilovers?

I don't think you can even save that much weight if you switch to 3-piece wheels...

i dug around the garage and the stock suspension isn't quite as heavy as i remembered. you're probably looking at about 10 lbs each. so more like 40 lbs total.

Nope, the Tein coilovers save you about 4 pounds in the front, and 3 in the rear (each).
