I did drive my SC430 today, but I did not notice the reading on the outside temp gauge.
I DID notice the gauge on my SLK yesterday, and it said 111. Which is probably accurate here in Stockton, CA. Sacramento, 45 miles north, set a record of 108 yesterday. They get more of a cool breeze from the San Francisco Bay area.
Rejoice that you live in more temperate climes!!

jason, like Nevada, Arizona radiates in hot temperatures. The AC of the SC is very good and cools the car quickly regardless of how long the car has sat in the hot Arizona sun.
We get three digit temperatures from mid-May to mid-October. In fact, during this past May we experienced fifteen straight days of 100F+ temps. This past Saturday, my display read 114F at 3:30PM. It will not be too long before we reach the extremely hot days of our summer season.
I notice that your inteior AC setting was 73 degrees. At 110F or above, I set the interior temperature to 78F; otherwise, it feels too cold inside my SC. When outside temps are at 100F, I set the interior temp to 74F.

It has just been a chilly 104 or 105degF around here. We just got a cold front in yesterday and the temperature never got past the upper 90's.

it was 111 just before i snapped the pic. anything up to 100 here is fine. but once it hits 110 or so, the heat burns your skin. not in a sunburn kind of way. you can be wearing sunblock and it just hurts. i expect 120 within the next couple of weeks. oh well. that's what limo tint is for

I was on my way home from the airport yesterday when I noticed the temperature, so this wasn't the typical over-temperature reading seen when the car is first opened up after sitting in the sun. (Mine had been in covered parking too.)
Oh and yes, my top was up and the a/c blasting.

Yes, unfortunately, the temperature gauge is not accurate for the first few minutes of running. Of course, it probably was at least 120 inside your car though!
