Just picked up my car from getting the bushings and what not replaced. Several parts were listed on the work order. The difference is very very noticeable. No clunk at all anymore. Just a firm solid ride, what I expect on a car with 18" Z Rated Run Flat Tires.
In the past I was giving a lot of grief to the rear run flats thinking they were to blame for the noises from the wheel wells, but I can report that I no longer hear them and no longer feel that I am have to dodge any and all imperfections on the road to avoid the noise. Thanks to all for the heads up on this fix, it proved to be very helpful. Cheers..

I agree. The harsh ride is a bushing problem not a problem with the run-flat tires. After having the bushings replaced, the ride of the car was very solid and the residual vibration was gone.

Unfortunately, I've had my bushings replaced twice. each time the car was fine for 100-200 miles. Then the harsh ride and the clunking started again. The bushings were replaced last week under TSB SU001-02 and are supposed to be the latest (March version) of the bushings.

DropTop430, do you have a list of the part numbers/names?

I have scanned them for you, check my profile and send me an email and I will reply to you. I scanned the portion of the work order so you can compare all of the info on it to yours. I would like to know if I got the new March Bushings. I will wait to hear back form you...

Default Can you post?

I just had the bushings replaced and although I am thrilled with the improved ride - now I want to make sure I got the latest version too.

Can someone post the latest part #. (Mine is listed as 5227130080 - the service was performed 4/5/02).

Thanks!

That looks like the correct one.

I saw TSB SU001-02 at the dealer. Part 5227124060 is the wrong one. Anyone with noise from their rear suspension, residual vibration after bumps, or a general looseness in the handling, should see their dealer.

Well this is weird. I have the part number (5227124060) described as a cushion on my work order. So this is not the correct part number? Why on earth would they not use the most up to date parts if they are available.

Just got a call from 2 Lexus Dealers in my area. They confirmed that there is a new part number as well as an update to the TSB.

They are not going to put in the new part until the customer complains of the noise returing.

My question is "why would they not have put in the most recent part number into my car 2 days ago when they did the fix" why risk the problem returning by putting in a part that again is defective? Very Strange.

It was also suggested to me that they may have been sent the updated part from Lexus but just used the old part number instead, I doubt it but I guess it is possible.
