Just added chrome wheels
I just added the factory chrome to my 430. Thanks to Genearch for recommending Wesco. I'm happy with the wheels but the so-called dinner plate isn't perfect. According to Wesco (Shawn) they are not able to legally chrome the plates, so they are an aftermarket copy. If you notice in the picture the Lexus L is not factory. Plus it doesn't fit as nicely as the stock plate. Genearch, was this the case when you got yours? Any feedback from others on the plastic plate would be appreciated. Originally (July2001), when I bought the car my dealership wasn't able to offer the chrome wheels.

dealer chrome?
Is there such a thing as a factory chrome rim? I was under the impression that the dealers offering chromed rims had it done aftermarket also... I've also heard from Wheel Creations (Fresno, CA) that you have to buy plastic aftermarket centers... I think there is only 1 supplier of these...

I should clarify that these aren't "factory" chromed. What Wesco does is take a stock wheel and then have it chromed by some third party. So it's a stock wheel that has been chromed is a better description.

Lexus only offered factory chrome wheels on the limited Nieman Marcus edition SC430. It also had red leather and carpet in a gray car. The TRD wheels are sweet looking (on the car especially...not just in an ad), but I haven't a clue what they cost.
