Default 2002 SC430 shutdown problem

This morning my daughter backed my SC out of the garage and put the top up. She drove about a block to the stop sign and when she hit the brake the car just turned off. She was able to start it again no problem but as she was bringing it back home, every time she hit the brake the car shut down.

Anybody have any suggestions for me to check when I get home tonight?
The car has 47,000 miles on it.

Thanks,

Doug

Did you recently have any service done to the car?

I once had a similar problem with my toyota, the car would just die while driving. Took me a little bit to figure out that the battery connection on the car was loose (shop that had just done some work on the car failed to tighten the terminals). So any sudden movement can make the connect bad, shutting off the car. It's worth a shot to check this out.

Good idea. I had the car serviced about a month ago but it doesn't get driven all that much. It's an easy check!

Thanks!

I got home last night and check whatever connections I could think of. Couldn't get the car to do anything other than drive normally. I took it out for a good drive in a variety of conditions and braked frequently. Nothing.

I'm thinking maybe the shift wasn't all the way in drive (there was a pair of sunglasses around the shifter that may have blocked locking in place. Going to keep an eye on things and see what happens.

Thanks for the feedback!
