Default Hub Ring?

Hi reading one of the other posts I read about checking the hub rings.
What are these hub rings?

if you have aftermarket wheels, they go on the back side of the wheel around the hole in the middle. they're used to fit the wheel to your specific car.

So Jason, they are not fitted as standard to the wheels?

I have them for my winter wheels. Otherwise, the higher profile wheel/tires wouldn't fit my SC430. They aren't permanently attached to the wheels so be careful not to lose them when you pull your wheels for storage.

Factory wheels do not need them as they are already the right size of the hub.

Lexus wheels are hub-centric, not lug centric. There's a bore in the center of an OEM wheel that closely fits over a boss on the hub, locating the wheel in the center of rotation. Without this, the wheel is centered by the lug nuts, which is not quite as precise. You don't have to use hub rings, but they should improve the position of the wheel in relation to the hub, and therefore provide a better ride.
