So far I've heard a more than one reason why this is occuring. I did some research, some say

they switched the lights. Left one to the right and right one to the left. Others said it was a

burned fuse. And in some cases it was a bad ballast or wiring. What throws me off is, usually

it's the driver side xenon that goes out first within a few minutes followed by the passanger side.

Or it's vise versa.Dealer is charging 250+ for a xenon light At this point I'm gona first

switch up the lights and go from there. I'm really trying to avoid having my bumper removed for

many reasons.

i have similar problem on my Lexus GS430 2007: i was driving and suddenly both headights went off. Turning switch from On to Off then back to On and they work. (hi-beam lights always work fine). The next few days, problem occurred again. I checked the 2 fuses (15Amp) OK. I don't think the light bulbs are the culprits because both went off at the same time. Please help. TIA.

This is a simple problem. Ninety percent it’s a bulb.
You might not think so but the bulb(s) need to be replaced if one or two just flickering, dimming or turn off intermittently. My LS400, SC400, ES350 and my Prius developed exact same problem. I just replaced the bulbs. Problem solved.

Agreed, the lamps are usually the issue. My drivers side is starting to fail. It will flicker a little and turn off every once in a while. Power off and on and she comes back to life. One of these days I will pull take the bumper off and replace. I purchased the replacements to do both at the same. Such a pain we have to remove the bumper to fix.

Replace BOTH is important? My passenger low keeps going off & 5-10 seconds after on so I replaced passenger bulb and relay, but same problem.

If replacing the bulbs did not solve your problem, it could be the ballast. Remember to wear gloves when work with HID and also remember it’s high voltage. Disconnect the battery before performing the work. I would replace both sides since it’s pain in the rear to replace headlights bulb in the SC.

Thanks for your help. I have not replaced the 2nd bulb yet. Would one bad bulb cause problem with the other bulb, like my problem of passenger low beam going off after 5-10secnds. My car is 2003 LS430, so older bulbs.
