Brake pedal noise??

Brake pedal noise??
I have had a 2006 for about 2 months now and love the car. The only complaint I have is the noise or slight clunk that the brake pedal makes on its' return stop. When you remove your foot quickly form the pedal there seems to be littel damping effect and the pedal comes to a slight clunk. My other 2 Lexus cars never had that and the only other vehicle I remember that did is the Mister Softee Truck I drove for 5 summers in Philadelphia. This is a somewhat minor issue. I had it checked at the Lexus dealer and they said it was fine. I was curious if anyone else had experienced this situation.

Yep, mine does it too.
I think they all do. Just kinda get used to it I guess....
Maybe a different bumper stop material for the pedal? Also, I wonder what the difference is with the other Lexus' cars?

Mine does that, too. It is annoying, I agree with you. Nice to know mine's not the only one.
I have never remembered to ask my service person about this when I have taken it in to Lexus. If there's a simple fix for it, I'd like to know about it.

My 03 doesn't make a noise, and the four other Lexus cars I've owned never had this problem

Yes, that is a common problem, however it is not a problem that causes problems except for irritation to the owner. Fortunately, there is a fix (or two) for it. It is mentioned in a different thread, unfortunately I don't have time to do a search on it right now. Do a search on brake noise and hopefully it will come up. Maybe one of the other members can get to it before I'm able to get back to it next week.
There were a couple of us who listed remedies for the noise. (Going off of memory, which is no longer a reliable source, it had to do with bending the springs to put more pressure on the pads and adding some copper grease to the glide paths of the pads. Be sure to not get the grease anywhere else, especially on the pads themselves.)

Oops, sorry. This is the first I've heard of that problem. Mine doesn't do that.
