damn, the 20K seems like SUCH a steal especially knowing you can get it for 18K...hmmm....

the PB 05 (black) and 07 (white) IMO are the best combos you can get though everyone I've showed the red leather too thinks it would get old real quick especially because its hyper-candy red...I think I'm in the minority and believe it looks real badass (never seen it in person) and hope that its more like the M3 red interior which is more dark and true red (if any of this makes sense)...anyway wish you the best and keep us posted for sure...

OK GREAT! I've got a nice list of Sterling McCall Lexus (isn't that down by you too cool in H-town?) only service...looks like this person put about 15k-17k miles on the car in a year! wow may only be a one owner from texas and the new england wholesaler bought it and shipped it up there or the owners moved to NE area or something. IDK

GREAT NEWS! Battery, brakes, tires, 30k and 60k have all been done. i would definitely want to give it a fresh fluid flush n' fill, spark plugs, k&n filter, a/c filter and timing belt though if I bought her. GREAT DEAL on this car.

For me, (as we discussed before), the $5k savings on this car versus the Lexus Dealer on the same PB Edition 2005 with similar miles in OH is much worth it...maybe even more for me considering knowing the car was born and serviced in Houston.

I finally talked to the 2005 PB with 80k miles that I posted the rich service history on above and they said they bought it at an auction in Houston for cars that had been in a fresh water flood. Houston floods sometimes they are right off the gulf of mexico.

So...it has a rebuilt title, but the water never entered the cabin nor the engine, it's just that it happened to go through standing water of about 2-3' feet and the insurance company totalled the car and sold at auction.

The seller is on eBay with 100% feedback for ten years. He said he buys thousands of cars a year from houston with these issues and lexus/toyota/honda/infiniti/nissan all hold up extremely well in the floods and they are able to recondition to new with their water techniques.

He said the interior is as new as it was in 2005 and runs perfectly. Reduced to $18k.

Wow! So tempting but scary too....look at the maint history...they spent a fortune on the car before the flood!

i wouldn't take a chance on a water damaged car. if it was in 2-3 feet of water, water did get into the engine. as well as all of the wiring. i'd be surprised if it didn't get in the cabin too. insurance companies aren't stupid. they would not have totaled it unless major damage was done. i'm sure it was kinda sorta repaired. but these kind of cars tend to be problematic with something else going wrong every time you turn around. he probably got it for $8,000 - $10,000 tops.

Found a 2002 red/ecru SC just like mine I sold. Asking $23,950 with 38k miles. One owner, all history, 30k service done. Perfect interior and exterior. In Missouri. I talked him down to $22k already at first bite, looking to maybe get for $21k and I pick up or $21,500 for delivery. Remember, I just sold my 02 with 29k miles for $24k. So, essentially I am getting another one just like it with 9k more miles for $2500 less perhaps? Silly of me, considering all I put into the other car, but my net/net would be about break even considering the 30k service I did on my old car, wheels/tires, nav disk, minor upgrades, etc.

So...essentially I would be re-financing my old car if I bought and financed this one! he he...lol...I shoulda kept her. Didn't blues man Willie Clayton have a song called "Cheaper to Keep her"?

All I would have to do is put wheels/tires on this...20" staggered ADR wheels and Kuhmo Ecstas at Discount Tire for $1500 total. Not bad...then my cost is up to $23k if I get this car for $21,500. Add my local tax and some detailing, etc on the car and I am about at where I was on my car, just fast forward 9k miles!

One thing about my old car that I never liked was the front bumper had been scuffed when I bought it and the Lexus dealer did a shoddy job of a respray of it and it never was perfect. I also had a couple of scrapes/scratches that were touched up that didn't look so hot and the underlying tan carpet was soiled in some areas (coffee?) that I could never get out. I'm hoping that this new one will be cleaner in that regard, and might make it a little sweeter for me. I am a perfectionist, so these little things matter to me. Of course, based on digital pics, it could always go the opposite way too?

30k service done and new tires. Not sure on brakes.

I'd say get the PB 2005...I just love the combo and black exterior > red IMO...plus you may not need to change the wheels out as the PB has diff wheels...thats my vote

whatever you decide, i'd make the sale conditional on an inspection. fly there and see it in person before you buy it and drive it home. you don't want to get it only to discover little imperfections you didn't know about.
