Default price for 2006 sc430

I am excited about joining the sc430 club. I was looking at a 2006 sc430 with 19000 miles on it for around $33000. I have been looking for a little while and this seems like a pretty good deal. Do others agree? If not, what would a good deal be for a 2006 or 2005? Thanks. Tom

Tnovak, First, welcome to Club Lexus.

$33K, 19K miles is a pretty good deal. I haven't seen many 2006's below that at this time. Be sure to run the carfax and as much info you can get on it prior to purchasing so you have a pretty good idea what your getting. You can also have any Lexus dealer run a service records check for you and generally doesn't cost you anything.

Good luck on your purchase..........I'm sure you'll enjoy your new ride. I have two and enjoy both of them.

Book value - good condition = ~$36k.
With 19k miles, it may qualify as an "excellent" condition car, but few cars do.
Sounds like you have a decent deal there.
Post some pics when you get it home!
Welcome!

I just bought an '06 CPO with 14,488 miles on it about 6 weeks ago. Paid a litte more, but worth every penny to me, looks brand new and has a better then new warranty. Sounds like a great deal if it's a CPO. Go for it, you'll be glad you did!

With the low low miles, that is a good to great deal. If you want less payment/money, you can go up in miles safely to 30k or even as high as 50k and save about $5k in car price.

You can go as cheap as $29-$31k for a wholesale car, but then you dont' get CPO, car washes, thorough history and some level of uncertainty, but you can always take the VIN and type it into lexus.com owners and pull up the maint. history that way. I have seen several nice matador red micas, smokey granite and white 2006's for $29-$31k in Dallas. Check out eBay...there is a nice 2006 at Crest Infiniti for $29k 51k miles though.

@ scdroptop for the difference of $4000 I wouldn't think the extra 30k miles on the car are worth it. That one you found tnovak seems like a good deal, what are the colors of the car your looking at?

The color scheme is blue with tan interior, which is exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, it isn't a CPO, but the maintenance history looked good. Tom

These cars run forever, don't let high mileage scare you if you can find a great deal.

Everyone has their own opinion, risk level and wants/needs. I agree that these cars run forever, but NO CAR is immune to cd changers, power window regulators, antennas, speakers and other annoying electronic gagdgets failing and costing $500 a pop to fix. You just can't figure that stuff out...no one can. The SC's tranny, motor, drivetrain and body/paint, interior quality and top mechanisms are all very dependable-that's a lot!

$5k in price for an extra 20k-30k in miles is $100 a month in payments. Depending on how much you drive, warranty and maint history, I would take that deal any day---but I have a lot of confidence in these cars.

I would stay away from a 2006 with 30k miles that had no maint history (someone just drove it for three years or leased it, got oil changes and nothing else) and the price was $2k more than a 2006 with 50k miles that someone owned and visited the lexus dealer religiously and had the 30k service done, etc. You also have to factor two big things on Lexus SC's...color and tires. You can easily rack up $1200 on RFT's on this car...I would never but some do pay that. Two cars with exact mileage and year, but differ in color, maint history, who is selling and tire condition can vary up to $5k-$7k. Throw a CPO car at a stealership and you are looking at a $10k+ spread in price. I looked at a $41k 2006 CPO car with 18k miles and I also looked at $29k 2006 car at another dealership with 55k miles. All relative...coincidentally the cheaper car had no maint history, the other of course had been pampered and had the CPO, better color (white vs matador red), etc etc

I am looking at 2006's right now too scorpio74 in Dallas-I will send you some things I saw in H-town. What are your color/year preferences?

Thanks scdroptop. I'll prefer pearl white, starfire white /black or alabaster interior. Silver or sapphire is second. How about you???

Stick with the white and ecru interior, much cooler getting into when the temps are high. Also, white doesn't show the dirt and swirl marks. Any 2006 around 30k is a good deal. A 2006 with 96k on the odometer went for 21,500 two weeks ago on Ebay. Needed timing belt but was in good shape Good Luck

Flew to Florida to pick this '06 up in July, when I dropped the top to take these pictures it was like sitting in an oven. I've since learned to manage the heat of the day, but I wouldn't want any other color combination. Not only does it look great with the White Gold Crystal exterior, but living in an area know for red clay, no matter how careful you are it finds its way into your car's carpet, so the black carpet helps. However, like anything else it's what you like in the end that matters. But if you like the black interior go for it, you'll learn not to sit in traffic on a 90 degree day with the top down.

Good Luck with your search.

^beautiful combo! I love white / black exteriors on the SC and have really fallen in love with the black interior. I orignally wanted saddle really bad (still partial to the red of the PB/NM), but the black has grown on me tremendously...
