Default TPMs replaced with new wheels?

Should you replace the TPMs when you put aftermarket wheels on, or can you just use the TPMs that are currently on the tires?

thanks,
Jace

You can get a TPMS seal kit from your local Lexus dealer for ~$6/wheel. It will have 2 new seals (inner/outer), and a new cap. When I switched wheels I bought 4, handed them to the guy at Discount Tire, and he moved the TPMS senders from the old wheels to the new.

so you can get away with $24 rather than like $450. sounds like a no brainer

+1
On my service manager's recommendation, and with the cheap price, I had my seal kits replaced after about 4 years (when I needed new tires), and again when I replaced the wheels last November. Cheap, easy, and prevents unexplained air loss.
