Default Need Help Desperately!!! Can't open trunk and NO LIGHTS at all

Well, car battery is dead today, so I replaced it with the red optima battery.
OK, I connected the wrong terminals by mistake and there was a spark.
Now, I can't open the trunk. Car started but no instrument lights, no brake lights, navigation unit not opening the door, radio not opening. Nothing is working except that the car can bet started BUT producing weird noise.
OMG, what's happening???? HELP, HELP, HELP

check your fuses. hopefully all you did is blow a few. you also may have blown the fusible link. which is most likely the problem.

Lucky for you the car is still able to start. Best thing to do is use a test light and test for blown fuses. If the car runs, then your fusible link is fine.

A friend of mine did the same thing on his GS430 and he wasn't so lucky. Blew every fuse and fusible link in the car and fried the ECU. He ended up having to buy a used ECU and have his keys reprogrammed to work with it.

Thanks for helping me out.
There's a square 40A fuse burned out in the engine bay and few others flat 15A and 10A.
I know there's another fuse box in the trunk but I CAN'T open the trunk to access it.
Is there a manual open for the trunk???
And where's the location of the fusible link? and which one is it?

here's how to open the trunk.

i'm not sure exactly where the fusible link is located on the sc. but i believe it should be located somewhere along the positive battery cable.

jason702: helpful link..... I don't have a sc430 but I take it there is no key hole to open the trunk? Well, its a good thing there is that hidden trunk latch by the center arm rest.

there's no keyhole. you have to use the remote or the button under the dash.

isn't it one of those covered up black compartments by the battery or on the driver's side? I thought i had seen some stuff with 120A when I was detailing my engine bay one time...

The red optima battery strikes again! For anyone who plans on buying this battery, make sure you turn it around because the positive and negative terminals are switched. It needs to be facing towards the rear of the car.

Thanks so much guys and gals helping me out!
CAMAracer is correct. The terminals on the red optima battery is opposite to the conventional battery.
jason702 link is so ever helpful. There's a cable inside the armrest under a mat cover. Pull it to release the trunk.
I found it out the hard way. Anyhow, there's a 140A fusible link in the engine bay labeled ALT burned out. Not sure where I can get one.
Brake lights, nav, radio, almost everything is still not working. I found out that there are two other fuse boxes inside the car. One by the driver's kick plate and one by the passenger's kick plate. Manual indicated that. So I'll update the info when I get the chance to get to it.
Thanks again for all of your help.

Ok, here's the update.
I got quite a few blade fuses that are burned out. Got them replace and still no sign of any lights.
So, found out that the 140A ALT fusible link in the engine bay is the culprit. Credit to the members here in CL mentioned that.
Order from lexus dealer and have a shop installed it since I couldn't do it myself.
So, now everything is back to normal.
However, I couldn't set the memory seat. It won't beep or anything. But I guess that's a small issue compare to what I've gone thru.
Thanks so much guys for all of your help.

I think the problem with your seat memory is that it hasn't been initialized yet.

The procedure from what i recall:
-Move the seat back all the way forward using the power seat back switch until you hear a beep.
-Then move the seat cushion back the entire way again using the power seat control.
-Then move the seat cushion all the way forward using the power control.
-You can now put the seat in the position you desire and push set and #1.
