Question Cost for 5,000 mile service

Just wondering what everyone's cost was for the 5,000 mile service. I just picked my car up and it was $109.23. I thought that was a little hefty for a oil change, even if they are checking the other fluids, etc.

Zippo for me as well (as was my 1k). I think it's my last freebie, but I'm not sure.

But I did have to pay for the detail.

5K is just an oil change and a rotation.

$100 or so is fair since lexus charges a bit more always at the dealer

with the car wash and the peace of mind, it ends up being only about $30.00 more (if you did the rotate) so it's no biggie

My 1k and 5k services are free. Lexus has called me and sent letters to me stating that fact.

I guess I should clarify - I initially brought my car in for a oil change 6 months after purchase when the mileage was 3,988. At that time they gave me a complementary "7500 mile" service.

The second service was 12 months after purchase when my mileage was 7900 miles. Strangely enough, they gave me a "5000 mile" service and this is the one I was charged for. They didn't rotate my tires because they didn't want to touch my aftermarket wheels, but it looks like they charged me for that part anyhow. If $109 is reasonable, so be it. My car is worth it.

Default hmmm

Did they list on the ticket what was done? $109 for just an oil change and check fluids seems excessive to me (unless it is for synthetic oil and more than 5 quarts)... what does it say on your ticket?

Default BTW

The oil change for my Porsche costs $120 at the dealer BUT that involves 11 quarts of Mobil 1 Synthetic oil and 2 oil filters. It took me 5 hours to do this myself once so I consider it well worth the $120 investment. But to pay close to that much for the SC430??? Am I missing something?

The ticket says: "PERFORMED 5000 MILE SERVICE PACKAGE CHANGED OIL AND FILTER, CK'D ALL FULID LEVELS AND TIRE PRESSURES. NO ROTATION PERFORMED AS AFTERMARKET RIMS AND TIRES INSTALLED. INSPECTED STEERING, SUSPENSION, BELTS, HOSES, AND DRIVETRAIN."

The breakdown was $24.69 parts, $76.35 labor, $3.82 disposal fee, and $4.37 tax. Again I suppose the price was supposed to include tire rotation, which they didn't do.

Rod,

your dealer does charge a bit high for "5k" service......you could have just wait for the 10k service, as the "7500one" was done when you bought the car...oh well, as long as they treated you and your car nicely....enjoy the ride
