they should only beep when they are being adjusted backwards toward the backseats. The reason is simple. Since the rear seat is so tight, the beeps serve as a "warning" in case someone is back there. Small and silly, I know but it's the small things that make this car awesome.

After losing power to the seats they need to be "calibrated". This is accomplished by moving the seat bottom all the way back and then all the way forward. After this the seat is "calibrated" and the beeping stops. I believe this process is described / buried in the owners manual somewhere.

I don't know if mine ever had a battery problem, only had it since last July, but it beeps only when the vehicle is moving and the seat is adjusted. I'll have to go check it out. I'm sure the seat has been thru it's total movement since we have had the car.

maybe you guys can help me.
I too have the beeping backward seat thing.
I tried the 'all the way back, all the way front' reset and the beeping continues.
I recently replaced the battery.
now, my seat pre-set (L1, L2) doesn't work.
any ideas what to do?
thanks. jimmer

You still need to complete the calibration. Did you move both the passenger and driver seat through their full range of motion? You should be sure to put the seat back(s) fully upright to allow the seat bottom to move to its fullest extent. Once done, your seat presets will once again allow you to set them. Let us know how things come out.

currently, the seat backs are pretty upright.
I'm cautious of losing the current driver side setting.
I've got a neck problem and it took me weeks to get
the seat and head rest to a precise, comfortable position.
I don't want to go through that again, if avoidable.

I tried the 'all the way back and all the way forward' and it didn't work.
the manual says, move the seat 'all the way froward, then move the seat back all the way forward'. you'll then hear a beep.
that worked. the seat presets are now programmable.

All praise to Bon for answering this originally, but I will say that you need to do the all the way front, all the way back AND ALL THE WAY LEANED BACK TOO!!!
The seat will look like it's headed to the trunk (do it all the way) and that should re-calibrate them.
I had to do this when they just serviced my 05 SC for the intake manifold, vais ipod and motor mounts/trans mounts. Not sure why, but they had to be done.
Try that and report back on if this works. All the way front, all the way back and lean all the way back on both sides. Then you should be able to program.

like I said, no need to do anything but:
1 the entire seat all the way forward, 'til it stops
2 then the 'seat back' all the way forward (listen for the beep)
3 then reset the seat where you want it and program it. done
that's it, via the manual and it works.
