White LED license plate lights
Has anyone done this? Is it hard to install?
Are these the right bulbs? $7 on eBay

i think those lights don't really give off a great output, I used 4-LED SMD 194-type bulbs. They are very good. Pretty bright and am very happy. Just my two cents.

I have a question that's been in my head for a while.
When I changed my license bulbs to LED bulbs, i noticed that my lens cover is a tinted smoke color.. The front texture of my bulb cover is slightly bumpy almost like there has been paint overspray on the lens. However when i look at the entire plastic peice, the color is uniform, even on the backside.. so i'm assuming it came like this OEM.
This is my first experience with a car that didn't have a clear cover for the license plate bulbs... did any of you notice this as well.. is there a reason for the cover to not be clear?

UPDATE: The eBay bulbs suck! They give off a blue-ish light, which I wouldn't mind if it was brighter! It's barely illuminated at night!
I see another poster said that he used "4-LED SMD 194-type bulbs" and was happy with the bright light. Can someone post a link where I can buy some? Thanks!!!

Don't go for any single LED lights (except if it's a 1W or higher),
They won't be bright enough.
I bought several lights from a Hong Kong-based retailer on eBay,
takes about 1-2 weeks to ship but I got satisfactory results.
I would post pictures but most cameras adjust the exposure so the image would over-exaggerate the brightness.

Here you go buddy. Forgive the quality, it's from my Camera phone because I can't find my actual camera. I think it's here somewhere. haha these will have to suffice for now. Let me know what you think...
