Default My Little Garage....

My collection used to be much more impressive, but my wife one time came in my office and said, "you're a grown *** man, what are you doing with all these damn' toys in your office that people can see as soon as they walk into the house"...so I sold off a bunch of cars. At one time, I had all the Maisto/MotorMax/MotorWorks 1:18 series and all the colors of the cool DUB CITY cars (I think 1:43). My four year old nabbed about five of them in his toy box all demolished with missing doors and hoods!

Motor Max makes the coolest ones--the top opens up and it is a true convertible!! These are very very rare. I also bought some dubs and rigged them on the cars too. LOL. Kind of fun.

Thought I'd share...do you all collect die cast cars like the ones you own too?

There are a lot on eBay. If you are looking for a rare color, look at the international eBay sites. The gold, silver, green and twighlight were the toughest to get. I have only seen a blue one once, and I wish I would have bought it. Never seen a gray one.

I love that the SC430. models have the working convertible, its really cool. I want to find a navy with saddle interior. But I don't think they make that.

Okay, scdroptop, jump in here but I don't think the MotorMax model 77718 has a moveable top but the model 73119 does.

Yep, checked the bottom of my white and black moveable top SC's and 73119 Motor Max gets you the moveable top. There is also an even rarer fixed hard top one. I never liked it so I didn't get it. For the purist collectors!

tromly-I WISH I got commission. I just like to let others know where to get stuff and hopefully at a good price/deal.

I have seen one black/black...stay tuned IStoSC I will find it again.

Most common are red/silver/black on ecru. in the fixed convertible models.

Welly makes the blue and green and twilight amethyst pearl ones. I have one Welly in my red one. For the purist collectors, Maisto makes the most detailed ones with the nav screen, better grill and headlights, etc. Motormax is kind of cheap, but I love the moveable tops!

You can do a search for die cast wheels and upgrade your shoes/socks on these cars too!!! Lots of fun...just like our real cars...

My next mod is intake and luxlink ha ha ha.

Default A few more shots

This collection is about 20+ years old. The display cases are CD/DVD storage cases purchased from Ikea for $99 Ea. Only the SC and the little ones go in this garage. Used like a family room for parties. Garage floor is epoxy. Vertical compressor is plumbed to the garage door area and the hose is on a 50 foot retractible wheel-also used to keep the collection clean while Zaino is the only thing that goes on the SC. The wife gets the carport for her Infiniti. My buddy is an electrician, hence the lighting. SC 430's are great hobbies, both big and small.

Those of you in Southern California, be sure to read the Cars and Coffee thread. I am thinking Saturday Nov 7th.
