Default SC430 vs LS430 I raced the wife!!

Okay eleven years of marriage, I never win an argument never get the remote control, I always get the toast that drops on the floor (butter side down) and I still have to take out the trash, but a race, with my new sports car, I gotta win.

WRONG

03 SC vs 06 LS

Off the line I pulled a bit ahead, at 60 dead even, at 80 she was a little ahead and we let off the gas.

The 03 is listed 0-60 in 5.9, the 09 in 5.8 the 06 LS in 5.9. How can this be? How can I tie a race with a car that has a fridge in the back and massage seats?

Did you pull a trailer behind your SC? LOL

Try it again and do the c-gate shift...much more responsiveness.

Are you in Power mode on your SC? Traction off?

Yeah... Pwr mode on the tranny.. foot on the floor! LoL!
But, If you have high mileage the SC may not be a nimble as its new car specs. But this only adds to my stance that 2-seaters don't have the same appeal due to the fact that many full-sized vehicles have equal or greater performance.

Not to worry. That's why the phrase "Yes Dear" was invented, it's better than winning. Let her use her fingers to change the channels, (just tell her what channels to hit). What's wrong with dirty butter? It's better than no butter. Who made the toast and buttered it? Taking out the trash, hey you're out of the house, so what's the problem. And I know her top never does down, but yours does. WINNER
Whether the top is up or down more people will look at your SC, than her refrigator toting four door sedan. So me thinks you are the winner.

fastest way to race an sc. power mode on. stability control off. put your left foot on the brake. rev the engine to about 3000 rpm. when the light turns green, let off the brake and floor it.

Make sure you have Shell 93 in yours and off brand 87 in hers, you'll experience a different outcome !! Good luck

LOL, you guys are funny! I correctly guessed the outcome when I saw the topic of this thread. The SC430 still turns heads after all these years and is first-class in reliability, but it lacks (in stock form) in sports car performance.

thats really funny, I thought my wife and I were the only ones who raced. I remember us cruising at 120 mph in our 2 g35's. We also had it out once in the GS vs her TL. I won by just a bit. The car weighs a lot more and we barely got it to 70

the SC is not a fast car. I raced my 06 gs430 vs. 07 SC430, and the gs was way faster. Not sure why. But the SC does turn heads every time.

+1, I believe there was a poll about three months ago concerning why owners had puchased their SC's. By an over whelming margin most people said because it is a luxury cruiser not it's sporty performance.

If memory serves, the 06 LS430 has a 6 speed and a more aggressive rear end. This helps with the hole shot and the 6 speed helps through the gears. Makes sense.
