Default The Next SC.

Not sure if you saw this Autoblog.com report.
If not, give a look and see what you think.

Yes, I've seen this, and from what I understand the next SC will be a "sub-LFA". From what I heard it will be a roadster and it will share a V8 from the LS and be more sporting focused. But I heard that it will still be a hardtop (not a soft type like what autoblog is reporting). Think SL550

Hope they leave out the run flats and ML speakers on the new model

it would be nice if they went with the ISF engine. perhaps even tweaked to get a little more power out of it.

Yup, it should be at least a SC500, not SC460, and since it looks like they scrapped the plan of a LFA roadster(contrary to what's speculated in this old report), I think they could just build a new SC from the LFA roadster concept(which looks different enough from the production LFA coupe shown recently), & I will be happy with it, I always think it's pretty cool.

And no, I think it's still going to be a hardtop convertible, it's a mistake if they go soft top IMO.

... and contour the sides to allow for that 'elbow hang' we're looking for.

check this out (scroll down to the bottom)...if real, none of these do it for me...

That lines up kinda with what a dealer told me. It will be a SC460 (although I do agree that a SC500 would be nice...) and an SC-F will also be available. I was told to expect a retractable hardtop (not soft top) performance roadster similar to the SL550, not a 2+2 Convertible (as what mtema99 said at lexusenthusiast).

i don't put too much stock into what dealers have to say. corporate is pretty secretive about upcoming models. even from their dealerships. they probably have no more idea what to expect than we do.

I agree. I used to own an Acura and the things those dealers would say to stir anticipation were crazy (V8s, RWD, new RL... all of which never happened and never will). Yeah I usually take things that dealers say with a grain of salt, but I thought this was an interesting tidbit, be it true or false. Since the SC is sold globally I'm pretty sure Lexus will come up with a replacement soon.

Believe it when you see it, and not before. My dealer says the SC is dead after 2010, and he's one of the top dealers in the country... yet, I still don't think he knows for sure, either.... until Lexus officially unveils a new SC, I'd consider it a dead model.

Yes the SC300/400 were "dead" for a little while too before the SC430 came out. Even then, many consider the SC430 not a real replacement because it's a hardtop convertible and so different.

As for SC460 instead of SC500 (if true), I will only forgive them for a SC460 if they also introduce a SC-F

^^^

That might be the best idea.

SC460 with about 375 hp, and a fully modded SC-F (SC500) with about 425 hp.

SC-F would be badass, but considering the larger population that owns SC's would it be too "harsh" for them???? Maybe the SC460 and SC-F are the two models?

tromly-no RFT's and no ML is right on! Bose is fine with me. How about paddle shifters, ipod connections, bluetooth and cooled seats? Bring back ABSOLUTELY RED!!

No more ecru interior either, although it was a great seller. Too light...very pretty but a PITA to keep clean. Camel is just fine for the light color. Would be nice to have a darker saddle with more brown in it.

Oh, one more request: Make wheels that are a right stance for the car!!!! They got the LS, GS and IS right this generation, but the ES and SC's asses are way too big for the wheels/tires and the GX/RX/LX too. Staggered and wider wheels!!!
