Default Remove window squeaks.

if your windows are squeaking when activated up and down, try some 'liquid wrench silicone spray.' I got mine at AutoZone.

mask-off the body by holding an old section of newspaper and spray along the bottom rubber spline. wipe-off any over spray (of course), operate the window up and down a couple of times, wipe-off the residue and leave for a couple of hours.

next time, the squeaks are nearly or all gone. it's working for me.

previously, I tried 'waxing the window,' which made it worse.

give it a try and let me know what you think. jimmer

Phew! I knew I remembered seeing this post.... My windows don't squeak, but I have a problem that may be related to that.

Yesterday, I had the rubber spline at the bottom of my driver side window replaced. The original spline ripped away from the base of the window because it would get dragged or pulled into the door panel whenever I would open my window.

The new rubber spline is doing the same thing when I roll down my window. Do you know whether silicone spray will fix this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if this is relevant to your problem westrella1, but I had a similar thing happen to my driver's side window. It didn't rip away, but it would fold in downward when I lowered my window.

When I was at the dealership for service, I asked them to replace the rubber strip, hoping that would cure the "fold-in" problem.

Turned out they didn't need to replace it. A sticker from when the car was new, had slipped down below the window and was causing the problem. They removed the sticker and all was well. No charge either.

Just so you know...

Funny.... er..... not so funny. I just checked my window for evidence of a sticker. There is no sticker anywhere.

But what pisses me off is that after running a plastic card between the glass & the spline is that I've found that Lexus did not replace the spline. It's still the same ripped spline, but it was rigged to not separate.

Good times.......
