A few of us had Ken (hipendicul) help us "hack" it to do this:

I wondered the same thing so I emailed them and here's the response I got:

Albert,

Thank you for your interest in LuxLink.

The LuxLink is finalized and has been for approximately 2 years.

Yes, the latest version is able to raise and lower the rear ¼ windows. However, you do have to purchase a separate module in order for it to work.

The cost of the LuxLink is $350.00 + $20.00 shipping. If you want the rear window control module that is an additional $199.00.

Thanks again for your interest in LuxLink.

Sincerely,

Steven E Larkin

Still my favorite mod on my car. Zero problems and it's way better with the rear windows down with the top up.

I just tried rolling the windows up with the top down again a few weeks ago, and while the rear windows do cut a bit of air, its almost not worth the effort. It does cut down the noise a bit top down..

So Dan, when are gonna do the next SC meet??

That's a piece of info I've been trying to get for the longest time -- my kid rides in the back. Definitely won't do it now, plus I worry about adding another component to mess up. I believe that the rear window unit LuxLink sells is just a generic $40 unit which they markup.

Agreed: LuxLink is my absolutely favorite mod. With the greater range I've been getting lately (strange), the top is now down and car ready to go before I even get to it.

OK, so short of installing the LuxLink, what's necessary to control the rear windows?

I'm more interested in that than opening and closing the top remotely.

What parts are necessary?
What's the installation procedure?

Curious minds want to know.

Thanks in advance.
