BlitzPowerUSA Restructuring
Options Auto Salon has become the North American distributor for BLITZ products. I've been trying to buy their Realize TT exhaust for my SC430 without success. During the changeover the folks at L-Tuned parts couldn't get answers from Japan on the future of Blitz in the US. The only pricing that they were quoted was full price.
I spoke with OptionsAuto directly today and the only way to get an SC430 exhaust is to special order it and wait for the next container. And this at full retail that's around $1800. I've inquired at many traditional Internet outlets with the same result: discontinued.
Any options or avenues that I should be considering besides just going to my local garage? I hesitate to do that because I just don't know what I'll be getting until it's installed and by then I own it.

You should be able to find a local garage that's done a custom-exhaust before, for either SC or GS models, with a little searching.
The Blitz exhaust is nice, but it's way overpriced and nothing special when it comes to sound or performance; most of the price is inflated due to very low import numbers and the weak dollar. Now, add in the wait-time for the next container, which could easily be months, and it really becomes an iffy proposition.
A competent shop can make you a custom-exhaust that sounds and performs at least as well as the Blitz exhaust, and for roughly half the price you're being quoted. It's really not very difficult to do if they know what they're doing.
Finally, there was a TT exhaust (used) for sale, at what I think is a very fair price, in the SC430 classifieds not too long ago, and the thread isn't closed/sold as of yet....
Good luck.

Does Stillen do anything for SC's? I had a SWEET Stillen catback system in my 300ZX twin turbo and loved the sound. It sounded like Godzilla then King Kong when I stomped on it. Sounded like a v-8 for sure....and it was the 3.0 V-6 (TT). Man! That was a nice sounding exhaust. Just a thought...

I checked out Stillen and nothing. I want something that let's the V8 sound through with some clarity but doesn't drone at cruising speeds and doesn't have the rasp of a rice burner. 3-5 db's louder would be plenty but not 6+. I don't expect to find a local fab shop to have a mandrel bender to make the nice open bends of the Blitz but after the crush that Lexus did to maintain ground clearance I don't think I need to worry if really all I'm after is a sweeter sound.
It'll likely be a miracle to find a shop in Kansas City that's done an SC before but I'll start checking around. I've also pm'd about the used on in the classifieds.

+1 on quiet engines, my SC is as quiet as my friend's LS, thought the SC would at least be 3 + DB louder
