My Friend in Japan, He asking following question.
If anybody know this, please let me know.
He want to install Japanese spec Navigation System for US SC430(present model).
He saw on magazine US SC430 has Japanese spec Navigation System.
And they said they changed to Japanese spec.
Is there any conversion kit available or they just use Japanese spec DVD disk?
Somebody knows about this Converted to Japanese Navigation system? please let me know.

Wow, this is your first post since you joined in 2001.
What year is your friend's sc430?
I just checked 02-05 Japan and US OEM catalogs and they show different part numbers for the nav computers, screens etc.
The UZZ40 in Japan has more bells and whistles such as TV, MD player..
Replacing the whole setup will cost him a lot.
Why don't your friend just borrow a Japanese map DVD to see if it works?
There is a Loading button on the Service screen, not sure if you can make it work by changing the setting there.
Howerer, I have heard that if you change your system to another country, you will need the disc from that country to change it back.
