Default First break down, new owners beware

Never asked but I thought I had a new battery on purchase, new owners beware, people keep these things so clean, and they are so low miles, I did not know my battery was five years old!!! Did she leave me dead, NO, she caught her breath and got me to sears. I passed on the 700amp battery that is made for the car, and had the guy force fit a 900amp Platinum. Plenty of cranking power. 100 month warranty, 200 bucks installed.

+1 on cleanliness, bet you can eat off of half of the SC430 engines , belonging to members of this forum !! That Platinum battery should last you at least seven years

I changed mine out after 5 years. And the 2nd new battery only lasted 1 1/2 years. and I recently changed another new one out a few weeks ago.
i'm on my third battery now. things are good so I'm praying that this time around, the battery is good for a few years down the road.

the 5 year bug...very good usage out of it Kaisersea! Good thing you didn't get stranded

$200 isn't bad for a high amp battery. I will for sure get the strongest one too.

My CPO had one replaced a couple of years ago, but too much sitting, i-pods and all the other gadgets we have on these cars probably diminishes battery life.

+1 on these engines staying so clean. my 2009 FX35 (and my old 2003 FX35 and all my suv's for that matter) get so filthy quickly. Both my SC's stayed spotless. Might be how low they sit or the seals around the engine bay that keep out all the dust/dirt?
