Default Nasty looking calipers... what to do???

Well I've been reading alot and now it's time to ask... I recently purchase a new project car, a 2002 SC 430, not that I have lots of time on my hands.

I've just changed out the wheels with a new set of chromed tourmalines and the calipers really need some cosmetic help... I'm thinking about using G2 Brake Caliper Paint... I'd love to hear your thoughts pro con or otherwise..

Thanks

I actually have 3 ideas.

A) You could go the new route and paint the calipers blue to follow suit with Lexus' new sport-oriented brand --> the F-Line

B) Paint them the traditional sporty red with Lexus logos (caliper stickers on eBay); OR

C) You could get brembo caliper covers (also on eBay) which come in a variety of colors, from red and yellow to black or silver.

Let us know how it comes out, it'll be interesting to see the outcome. I also have a mercury metallic SC on black like you except mine is an 05. My calipers are silver with white "Lexus" caliper stickers. It would be interesting to see something different. Keep us informed!

Pull them off and have them professionally powder coated.

"OR" you can do like me and order some "Brembo" brake covers off E-bay for about $50.00, glue them on your original rusty calipers, (you will have to clean them up a bit so the hi-temp silicone will stick) and have some pimp'in lok'in brakes!!

^^^ that was the option "C" I listed above. I think it looks great but don't you have to take them off every time you change the pads? Might be too much of a hassle for me....

Wouldn't the Brembo caliper covers qualify as "posing"?

I think the G2 paint kit works great. With a few coats and Lexus stickers they'll look brand new..
