diablo-i am surprised that the dealer didn't work with you on the $3k price more...I have the invoice for CPO and the list of things, their cost, etc. and it's about $900 for them to certify. They have a hefty markup, but a smart dealer would work off that CPO markup so they can at least get your service business.
Now you might be going to Toyota or DIY versus bringing it in every time.
I'd call the dealer and tell them that the car was supposed to go through the 163 point inspection and this clearly was overlooked. Push on them a little-this should be covered!
While you are in there, see if you can buy the 3/75k warranty for $1800 or so...much cheaper than the $3k...ML speakers, motor mounts, and cd changer can add up!

Wow thanks for the tips. I''' give them a call on Monday and see if they will do something about the problem. Also i'm going to inquire about the aftermarket warranty they offered me when they offered when they sold me the car. It was for 5/yrs 100k for $1200. Zero deductible too. At this point it might make sense even with the low miles on my car. Aside from the problems you mentioned, I live in South Florida and open the top almost every time I get in the car (weather permitting).

Just as an update and for future reference for others who might have this same problem, I brought the car into the dealer and they found that it was a bad ignition coil. They fixed the problem free of charge and now the car runs perfect.
As for the extended warranty, the dealer tried to quote me $3500. I guess the lower quote only applied when I bought the car. Oh well, I told them i'll pass.

These same lights just came on in my 04 SC with 21K miles. I tried starting it and it took a little longer, I tried starting it again and it started up with all these lights on.
Is there a DIY to replace a bad ignition coil? How do I know which coil it is?

For my car it was the brake actuator, but I got the lights to go away temporarily by undoing the gas cap and turning it on and then off. Then capped on again. When I turned the car on the light was gone. Perhaps reset the signal?
