Thanks scdroptop, I'll do that before going this afternoon. But that could be the difference between, Tx. & Pa. I know that the county, that I live in is divided one half is cheaper than the other. Found this out when I moved a corvette out of this county and brought it back to a different location, in the same county that it left. Have you ever had to use them for covage? How did they handle your claim? I'm beginning to think you have to change your insurance companies like your internet service, your TV cable (dish), your natural gas company, your electric company, your magazine subscriptions and on and on and on . You spend all day chasing the best deals, then you have no time left to cruise in your toys.
Thanks going to look now.

Default Another way to lower insurance costs

If when they ask--how many miles a year--you say less then 7000, you will get a better rate.

After an accident of total loss, the number of miles you drove the car in a year is never checked.

That will save alot of money.

I did it!!! Went with Travelers. Farmers was still a little more, plus I asked the insurance broker if she had tried other companies. She said she already had and that Travlers was the best deal that she could get. I have a little better coverage for both cars. Paying $474 for the SC and $414 for the ES. Saving like $55. dollars a month over $600 hundred a year, plus I also moved my house insurance, don't think I had too. Saved another $90. a year with that, with better coverage. I would not have switched if it had only been a $100 or so. Been with them a lot of years. The new agents said she thought you should look around every 3 or 4 years. So I guess maybe I will.

Katy, I did tell them that, cause it's true and I have the state inspection to back me up. This retirement thing is just great, don't have to go anywhere every day.

I got too busy to deal with this. But I'm going to try to get quotes from every company you guys listed. I'll get quotes with $500 and $100 deductibles. And post my results here. So far, this is my list of people to call...

allstate
progressive
farmers
geico
amerprise
usaa
hartford
shelter

I'll also tell State Farm I'm shopping around and give them a chance to give me a new quote.

Try metlife and tell them you are a sanofi-aventis employee. See what discount they give you as well.

I believe they're a drug company. They have one of their plants in Swiftwater Pa. They were making H1N1 vaccine. I don't know what else they make.

Try Amica for a quote as well. At some point, guys and gals, our SC's will be considered by Hagerty for collector car insurance.

Almost got them to consider it this last go round, and I will keep trying. I think that would be the very best way to go, if it can be done. That's as long as you have another car to drive.

Just a little update. I started calling around and was getting rates at or above what I was paying. Then I called State Farm and asked for a quote. I told them I was shopping around. They came back with $520 every 6 months after LOWERING my deductible to $100. If I had kept my deductible at $500, it would have dropped to $480. But the lower deductible is well worth it.

I guess insurance in NV is more expensive that in Pa. That's twice as much than I'm paying. I guess I don't want to move to NV., can't afford the insurance.
