Navigation door motor????

Navigation door motor????
I have followed the thread on removing the navigation screen and I do not have anything loose. I think the tilt function or the whole electric motor went bad. The open/close button just turns it on or off. Tilt does nothing. I found one on the net same door color. Do you guys think this will work to change the whole unit? Will I need any codes? I do not think it is the control panel since everthing else works. It is out of the same year. Any other problems I might have? Thank you CL Members!

Well it could be the motor, or it may be the wiring harness, or might be something as simple as a ground gone bad or the panel switch.
There are several diagnostics that can be run. There are seven(7) full pages of diagnostic codes and continuity/voltage tests. So what I'm trying to tell you is if you've already have the NAV display out you've done most of the labor already, unless you're very handy with a V/O meter and can access the diagnostic codes, sounds like its time to take it to the dealer to find out exactly what's wrong. Once armed with the correct diagnosis you can proceed.
I will tell you, the usual result after a tilt failure is to replace the harness or switch assembly BUT without the diagnostic codes it's just a WILD guess.

Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are collected using the Lexus Scan Tool via the OBD-II port. But if you have the Multi-Display out and disconnected you'll pick the code written to the NAV ECU only. They need to reconnect and test.
The cable harness and switch have continuity and voltage checks too. The attached table covers potential problems and the corresponding diagnostics pages in the repair manual for the 02 model year.

I know this is an old thread.
The Navigation screen in my car would not tilt and would not close. I tested the tilt motor and it is bad. I peeled the black tape back to find a part number and it turns out that these are very common and readily available motors.
They were about $3.75 ea, shipped. Ebay has them but I like these better and this website has a spec sheet on them.
Once they arrive and are installed, I will post the results.

The motors arrived tonight and they appear to be exact replacements!
I am currently rebuilding ML speakers but will hopefully get to the navi screen this weekend...if you cannot read the underlined part number on the invoice just look back at my previous post.

I have also the issue with the motors and couldn't resist to give it a try to replace them. After I finally made it and have freed the motor which drives the screen ( I lost many of the very small black screws on the way, had to drill them out) I have a hard time to get off the part of the worm-drive which is connected to the axle of the motor. Can you please tell me how you solved this?

as for the worm gear...it’s been over five years and I just don’t remember.
if there is no set screw it must pull off the motor shaft.
