Default crap!!!

i was at my girlfriends house and parked my car outside. i left in the morning to find that someone hit my car. they hit the front bumper in the corner and scruffed it up. luckily its not dented or anything, but itts a very big scruff mark about a size 8 shoe and the other car's paint is still on my car.

does anyone know if the color, black onyx is hard to match? should a good reputable shop be able to match the paint? thanks for any info.

Bad news - I'm sorry for you.

My understanding is that as long as you have the code number for your particular paint, then any professional auto paint shop should be able to match it. They all have computerised mixing thingies I think???

Pot,

If it's just a "scuff" like you said, first try buffing it out with a very light polish and an orbital buffer. Yo may find that repainting is not necessary. Some scuff marks that look pretty bad at first glance can be removed completely with a good buff job.

I have black onyx on my GS and I had my bodykit painted that color and they matched it up pretty well, I dont think its very hard to match black onyx since its a standard black color, now if you have a car that changes color ( midnight blue to black ) then I guess that would be harder to matchup

Your dealer's "bumper guy" should be able to fix it for 120$ bucks or so and will have it done it 1 day.

I had a small but deep scuff about the size of a compact disc fixed by a company called Magic Paint.
They did an amazing job and I could never ever tell where it was after they were done...They buffed out a few other scratches on my silver SC430 and charged me $250 CDN for all of the work, I thought that was very fair...Look into that option....

i tried to polish it out myself but no good. i guess i dont know what the hell im doing since i manage to scratch the clearcoat when i wash my car but some paint did come off my bumper tho and im getting it fixed. A local shop said they can fix it for about 300$ canadian, plus they'll buff out some of my other scratches too. oh well....
