Sc430 ends production!!
On the one hand I am happy because our cars will be classic, beautiful design with no replacement model. In a sense it will be timeless. On the other I am disappointed there will be no new redesign. I gotta say I LOVE the Eternal Jewel Edition. Might pick one up for myself if they offer it here in the USA

guys, there are SOOOOOOO many pluses to this happening the way it is.
1. face it, a redesign would simply make our cars look "dated", wouldnt it?
2. do you remember the outcry when the supra ended? it raised resale value and demand, as well as gave the car more prestige and cult status
3. also like the supra, this is the new "tuner" car, and its incredibly long run increases the viability to make aftermarket performance parts since they will cover so many years of production
4. and lastly, all good things do need to come to an end. and the car is still amazing. im happy i chose it and i bet you are too....

I agree, let's let the 430 go classic, but be patient.
most car organizations use the term to describe a car that's been out of production for 15-25 years. none-the-less, the SC430 is a classic in waiting and we're lov'in it.

No tape deck? I am going to have to pass.
I am about to get stoned by the group, but the Supra is still is a modern shape while our gen one looks dated and old. I don't know how long the shape of the SC gen 2 will look good, but I think it is as fresh today, as day one. I drove a friend to the airport tonight and he was floored to learn he was riding in an eight year old car. I regularly get people walking out of new Porsches, Audis, and Benz throwing me compliments. We may just own a best kept secret.
When I look at our car I see design cues from the TT, classic porsche, and AC Cobra. Long term appeal looks good.
Long live the 430!! Anyone know where I can buy tape?

Exactly. The SC model will continue on, just as a new body form and engine. As long as Lexus keeps the car V8 (say 390 hp), aluminum folding top convertible and even more luxurious I will be a happy guy. I still would like to get my hands on a 2010 within the next year, but am ecstatic to learn about what is in store for the next gen. SC.

I am really liking the interiors -- Something they should have offered/done a long time ago - Ala BMW Individual Program.
Wonder how much $$ it would be to convert a Ecru interior to the picture - Looks like dash pieces, trim, - now that I think about it probably much more involved than first glance.
Not Crazy about the 2 Tone Tops - but I'd probably be ok if I were buying a last year car - it would certainly stand out!

love the two tone interiors and the two toned top.
A dealer (Crest) here in Dallas takes their stock Infiniti cars and does a two tone top or two tone sides and it looks really awesome. They did it to a G37 coupe and it was sweet in silver/black.
I'd kill for the red/white candy cane!!!
I wonder if we in the US will ever be able to get access to some of the JDM interior parts and options that they had? The all red interior is sweet too, but I may be biased.
kaiser-it's funny today i saw about 15 SC430's in Dallas and actually a couple of SC300/400's as well. I was admiring how much the first gen body still looks sharp today. I had a 95 SC400 red/black. If you are looking at the front hood, the body still is very curvacious and sexy...classic like a jag XK. I don't think either of the SC generations will ever look dated IMO. Sure, a base SC300 from 92 with 15" wheels and no spoiler (you HAD to have the spoiler on that big *** in the first gen) looks a little dated, but add a spoiler, the 99+ front headlights/bumper and rear and you have a nice looking coupe. In fact, there was a 95 SC400 for sale here in Dallas for $4500 with 130k miles and I was thinking about snagging it and trying to resell.
Good points about the Supra. What a following the RX7, Supra, 300Z all had after production. Nissan and Mazda capitalized by producing spinoffs (350z, RX-8) but Toyo never replaced the supra unfortunately, which all but help skyrocket the prices of these classics. I could only HOPE our SC430's have the same aftermarket appeal as the supras do/did. Hell, a 1993 TT supra targa with 100k miles stock goes for $30k!!! Wow!
The supra does, however look very dated and very 1990's toyota inside, as opposed to our first gen SC's which still look classy and of course our SC430's still look great inside.
Just my two cents.
