I'd appreciate any advice/feedback on how and where to sell my OEM wheels that came off of my '03 430 (like where to advertise and how much to ask). The wheels are in great shape (no curb rash). They were in action for less than 14k miles. The pie plate for each wheel was replaced with the 5-star cap. I'm in San Diego and would prefer not to have to go to the effort of shipping them (so ebay may be out of the question).
By the way, I think this forum is outstanding. I have learned numerous things and come to appreciate many more things about my beloved SC. Thanks to all that post.

Post it on a VW forum. They have become popular wheels for those guys, and don't look too bad on their cars.
there was a thread several months ago that had pics of them on a VW.
My guess is $350 - $400, or whatever the market will bare.

I will get them for $400 shipped if there in great shape and have the 5 spoke center cap as stated. The shipping would prob run about $100 ground shipped to FL 32256. wheels weigh max about 25 lbs each i think. would need some pics.

I don't know if this is a stupid question or not, but I listed my 2003 OEM wheels on my local craigslist site, and someone (a guy that resells wheels) asked if the wheels are chrome or silver. The wheels are shiny as heck, and I assume they are chrome. But, I must confess, I don't really know what silver is. Were all of the 02-05 stock wheels born with chrome wheels? Thanks.

If it's reflective like a mirror, chrome. If really shiny but not mirror-like, silver (more of a white shine then reflective). The default was silver, not chrome. With used wheels, often silver is more valuable because it's easier to refurbish and chrome a silver wheel than to re-chrome one that has already been done (this of course assumes the wheels need refurbishing). Check the VW link above -- the first picture shows silver wheels, the last two show silver wheels with a chrome center.

So I sold my OEM wheels a few weeks back to a local guy for $300. Here they are on ebay for $800:

I was happy to unload them for $300. More power to the guy if he can turn a $500 profit!
