Default Tinting

Hey guys,

I've been wanting to tint my black on black SC430 and I have called around to see how much it would cost; I've been quoted around the $200-250 for all my windows and rear.

I have been given the explanation that the Lexus takes a longer time to tint (4 hours) as it is more difficult to do.

Is this true? What prices did you pay?

And also, what color or % should I get? Thanks.

Located in SoCal.

+1 I went to tintmaster city too. I have silver/black and went with the 3M 35%, which to my eyes looks black.

How long did it take? At certain places that I call, they require extra time for Lexus', but I don't know if they are just saying that because I own a Lexus. Lol.

2 hours? Maybe 3? They open the top part-way to get to the back window. They have to contort inside the back seat to get to the quarter windows. For the doors, don't let them remove the interior trim -- just tuck the weather stripping and do it that way (saves a lot of time and scratches).

Lexus glass does have a water repellent coating as part of the glass properties. But I don't know if this is an issue for them or an excuse to charge more.

$200 isn't outrageous. but if you can get it for $145, i'd do that. personally, i got mine for free. i asked the dealership to throw it in right before i signed the dotted line. i went with 10%.

Just recently got mine tinted and it looks great. Nit sure what percentage I got but I went with the best they had. A high quality ceramic tint. I went as dark as legal and love it. Paid $222 and got a lifetime warranty

i believe the toughest part is the rear quarter windows because you cant pull them down independently.
from what i remember it took between 2-3 hours.

Had mine tinted 5% in GA for $135 cash. Only took 2 hours. It might be too dark though; you can't see in through any window!

They're doing that because you called them.

They told me the same thing about my Corvette.
