Creaking Noise Going Over Bumps
#16
I had a similar problem. It was like a clinking noise when a spoon hits a glass. Turned out to be the right rear shock has a metal cap surrounding where the piston goes up and down that was supposed to be crimped from the factory. The crimp gave way and the metal ring was hitting the shock on bumps. Since it posed no safety concern, i simply wrapped the metal ring with black electrical tape and then taped the wrapped ring in place where it should be crimped. That way it didnt move and deadened the sound if it did. There is enough space to tape it thru the rear springs if the rear tire is off. The only other way wud be to replace a otherwise perfect shock.

I just replaced my RunFlats with regular tires and it seems to have dampened the noise a lot. This is probably because the ride is a lot smoother now and it doesn't seem to make that squeaky/creaking/rattle noise as much now.

I had noise like that.
It coused by metal parts that support brake pad.
Please see my weblog.
