Default Advice on upgrading emblems from silver to gold

Bought Katy OEM (used, but in very nice condition) gold emblems for her Pine'04. Bought the rear set...interesting...looks like the overall diameter of the rear "L" badge on the '04 is larger than my '02....?? and of course, the emblem I bought fits mine...but not hers....Anyone else had this problem? Didn't think that there would be a size difference from year to year...I can see that the front badge is different from the rear, and will need to look a while to find one. These are plated metal, not plastic...staying away from the plastic repros (from Israel?)am I correct here? Also, should I attach with 2-sided tape ( from the auto paint store) or some sort of silicon glue. I will have to remove the old adhesive, which is no problem, and have been following the post on removing existing emblems...thanks for any advice...Bob

From some pictures, it looks like the same size. I have an 05 and it looks as if they're the same size with the 02. Maybe they sent you the wrong size emblem? I would e-mail them and tell them. GL!

Default Emblems contd.

Well, I was wrong...the rear emblems on both Carolyn's '04 and my'02 are the same size ( re-measured this am) .....the one in the rear "kit" I bought is about 1/4 inch narrower, and about 1/8 inch less in vertical measurement...don't think that I will use this..and will need to find out what model of Lexus it is applicable to....any ideas of which model it fits? Bob

oooooh tuff one...sorry to hear that. why can't mods just be easy?

I'm trying to put some chrome lexus center caps on my aftermarket wheels and are having the same problem.

I like the gold emblems on the pine car...gold is at an all time high...be careful where you park! :O LOL

You might want to investigate having your's redone rather than getting somebody elses. Just a thought.

I don't have their name with me here in Calif., but when I got the gold ones for her MX-6 and the black ones for our ES 300 you could send them yours and they would redo them. There was always a core charge for your old ones so they had ones to redo. (If you broke one taking it off, each one had a different value. Should be home Thursday, will look it up then. It was in Florida. I know that. Maybe someone else here on the forum knows something. I'll be in Phoenix Tuesday to Thursday, I'll be on the look out for some "real" shinny SC's.
