NEW SC COMING!!!! Confirmed

450 hp sounds about right. possibly more. the only current engine they have fitting that description is in the LS hybrid. it was introduced in 2005. i can't imagine they would launch a new sc with a 9 year old engine. so i assume they're currently developing a next generation hybrid. personally, i'm hoping for a 0-60 time in the neighborhood of 4.5 sec. but i also suspect the MSRP will be somewhere between $80,000 and $100,000. considering how much batteries cost in hybrids, i wouldn't want to wait and buy one used.

^^ I think that may be accurate. If they want to realistically compete with the Merc SL, they will have to make hp in the 450-510 range as well as sell at an $80K+ MSRP. The vehicle's styling should be more sport based while staying true to it's "weekend cruiser" reputation. But to be honest, the individual's willing to pay in that price range, in my opinion, want the performance aspect along with the luxury comfort. We'll see what happens, but I hope the next SC will be incredible.

I could totally see the LSH engine in the SC for 2014 after the LFA runs for a few years....plus give the IS some track time to sell before it becomes outdated...remember the IS bodystyle debuted in 2006 right? So by 2014 it will be dated for sure. Really, we just have three model years to wait. As Jason said, time to save some money!
Maybe for some of us with 2002-2005 would consider upgrading to the 2006+ as an update to hold us over? This way we can get warranties, etc. still and hold us over till 2014. Or there is nothing wrong with having a 12 year old car (2002) by the time the new one comes out. I remember the 1992 SC still looked good back in 2004...hell I saw two of them today and still looked good to me!
I read the most recent C&D on the LFA and what a beast that is!!!! Way too expensive though...way too expensive. Lexus may have priced themselves out of the market on this car...why wouldn't they have done a tamer version and just launched it as the replacement SC with a convertible top? Would have made sense!!!!

I wouldn't take that article seriously, there are lots of rumors going around all of the time but Lexus has already stated that they are not producing more then 500 of the LFA engines, anything that would go into possible Lexus F cars would be engined produced with LFA technologies and engineering.
As for a future SC, I really do wish it will come, though it wouldn't make sense for there be to be a 4 year dissapearance for the high end coupe.
