Default 69$ Iphone / Ipod Adapter

Cheap upgrade number two. This kit is FM Modulated, you plug the antenna into the adapter, and then the adapter into the radio. It is the I simple Tranzit. The power boost is strong enough to knock out any radio interference. The little switch you see in the compartment is the power button that kicks on the radio block. With it on, the car gets no radio reception. It charges my Iphone and my Ipod. I put on RCA connectors so I can use it for other hookups if I decide to later. It is a generic kit, which I bought off ebay for $69. Installation time 2 hours. That is with the learning curve on taking apart my dash. I could do it again in about an hour. Sound quality is as good as the radio, which is not bad at all. Much better than using a cassette adapter. CDs sound better.

This was scary!!

Finished.

I might have gone with the VAIS, but with my 03 I would not gain controls for my Iphone.

Nice, I went with the SLU on my 2004 SC430 with the iSimple cable that charges the iPhone/iPod. No steering wheel control but sounds great. Both iPhone and 3.5 aux input are in the center console. Looking to notch the center console to have a place for the cable to exit the center console.

On my 2008 RX350 I went all the way with iSimple setup which emulates SAT radio. Works great and has iPhone and 3.5 aux input. Cheaper than VAIS setup for RX350. 2004 SC430 the VAIS SLU was the only only I could find where forum members had decent luck with.

Not a lot of wiring. You run a power lead and ground, then you put the simple adapter between the antenna, and the plug in the head unit. Done! The kit comes with an IPOD/IPHONE cable, and a second cable with a standard headphone plug you choose one or the other. I spliced the wires and put in RCA Jacks so I could switch between them. There is a toggle switch to turn on and off the powered modulator. I changed it for a rocker switch. 90% of the job is getting the head unit out

So on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best what would you rate the sound quality?

If CD is 10 these are a solid 7.
