Default Eating Batteries!

My 02 SC's been eating batteries lately. At first I thought it was modern battery quality but I'm beginning to suspect the car. Did a voltage check after I put the latest battery in and at a high idle it's running approx 14.25 volts - a bit higher than I would have suspected. Any suggestions? Voltage reg/alternator maybe?

The alternator will raise the battery voltage in the 14.25 to 14.5 V range. When fully charged, an automotive battery will register about 13.5 V for a short time.

Do you have a lojack? As they age/break, they start drawing a lot of power all the time.

Or any other electrical mods in your car in that matter?
In my case it was the NAVTool that was supposedly professionally installed. They hooked it up to constant current so that it was always powered.

It drew little enough that the car would start fine if i left it alone for up to 2 days.. However if i didn't drive the car for 3 days the battery would always be too weak to start the car. Took me a while to figure out what was going on.

Everything in the electrical system in completely stock - no add'l equipment. Maybe I'm just getting funky batteries. At this point when they fail I get a new one for free

When the battery goes dead it's really dead. My charger shows an error message and won't charge it...
