Harold...you're like my dad though I think I got him to finally stop...quit topping off the fuel! Once it clicks its done!

the way I read it, take the new gallons pumped from the pump gauge, ie 4.56 gallons, then this number divides the miles driven = mpg.

you've reset the odometer, filled the tank, driven 102 miles, stop to fill up again, add 4.56 gallons. 102 / 4.56 = 22.36. yes?

Why not just rely on the onboard computer's mpg average calculation? It does the work for you.

With the extra gallon to gallon and a half, I can go another 25 to 35 miles and extend the time between fillups. Plus, if you want an accurate mpg reading, you have to be able to come close to filling it up to the same level every time.

Because the mileage computation is not accurate. It typically shows about 1 mpg high every time on my car.

Are you serious? You get BETTER gas mileage with the PWR mode on???

Crazy! I used to get better gas mileage with the top down too, which didn't make sense because of the drag the car created with the top down, however I figured out it was PROBABLY turning off the a/c that really made the difference!
