I didn't think of this sooner, but most warranties do have a timeline. Typically, it is prior to a factory warranty expiring or a certain number of days after the car purchase. You might check this before getting too excited about any warranty.

It was interesting to me that the warranty on my 02 SC was less expensive than the CU employee who wrote up my SC warranty. Her car was an 08 corolla and this was in June '08.

I do plan on getting this same warranty (Cuna) on my wife's 08 Infiniti EX prior to the 4-year Infiniti warranty expires. So far (2 years) it works as flawless as a factory warranty and all my work was done at a local lexus dealer. They have used it enough that all the info is kept in my file. No deductable is great.

I recently bought a Lexus, Platinum(0 Deductible) 3year,36K mile warranty for my 03 SC 430 w/ 34K miles. I had a 7 year warranty, which expired, so I purchased a new one. Since Lexus is not introducing the next gen SC anytime soon, I will be keeping mine, so I thought it would be wise to purchase another warranty. I purchased the warranty from: tobin rivers/Lexus of Shreveport @ 1-800-335-3987.
The price was $1865.00. I'm sure other warranties are cheaper but with a Lexus warranty I never have a problem and everything is fixed "no questions asked"..

Hi SCdroptop.. No Jade is good.. she has a Lexus warranty..my thought was I see all of these nice SC's, from individuals, but what do you do if something goes wrong? Can you actually find as good a warranty as the Lexus one from the dealer. I called a dealer and asked in someone could buy an extended warranty from them, and basically was told no..that it had to be a car that they sold to you.

So then I thought, are all these people just buying these SC's and taking a chance, or was there a way to get a warranty after your purchased a used SC?

I think it is good information to have..
