ok, here's a tip: don't stick a screwdriver into the
lighter camber to fiddle with the 'fins.'
after replacing the 15 amp fuse, I used a long,
wooden golf tee to bend the fins.
now, the lighter element heats to a nice red glow
and ejects fully out of the camber onto the center console.
with some practice, I can time it to launch into my waiting palm.
now that's a real mod for ya!
at least the new, after market lighter element will arrive mid-week.

dude, that really tells me your skill level. lol
I learned that trick from my mechanic friend and I usually got it right the first time when I fixed mine and my friends'.
If I didn't get it right the first try, I played it around till I got it right.
Maybe you have better luck on the ebay lighter and I hope it doesn't requires wire cutting/splicing.
BTW, this is the tool I use to bend the metal tabs inside the housing.

The 15 amp fuse for cigarette lighter is located in the passenger side junction box. Labeled as "CIG" in the center column, 2nd from the bottom.

My Cig Lighter is not working but I have not used my tester to check if the lighter is out or there is no power.
I need to check the fuse tonight.
