I swear in looking at pictures of SC 430s for sale I once saw a door speaker surround fashioned of wood that matched the wood used in the balance of the interior. Does anyone know if such a speaker surround exists, and if so, is it a mod and where can it be purchased?
I'm talking about the ring that surrounds the speaker cloth of the speaker in the upper door, as in the photo below.

Apparently, www.exoticwooddash.com is no longer around?

Thanks, Roofless. It does appear that the link is no longer functional, but I'm sure there are other dash kits available, or the same dash kit available elsewhere. I think the car you pictured is a tad overdone. I'm thinking the upper and lower door speakers, the driver and passenger door controls, the power mirror controls and the dim switch might be sufficient.

Love the looks of the kit. I found a company that carries the Sc original colors. Cost 160. I will let you know how it looks and take some pics. I have the light color in my 02. I am supposed to get it in 1 1/2 weeks. Here is their site:

There seem to be three major companies with kits: Sherwood, Benevento and B&I. I wonder which company would have the most exact match to the Lexus interior woods? Anyone have any experience with this?
Solman, I'll be interested to hear your experience with installation, as well as the quality of the match from the kit you are using.

I had an interesting discussiion with the sales guy. He said the match is about 90% because this is real wood (both in the SC and the kit) and it does age especially in the sun-but also because of variations with real wood it is never a perfect match. Second, the only real difference between the three kits are the number of pieces. Benevento has 20, Sherwood has 18 ($142.99) and B & I has 15 ($130.50). the parts are almost al the same. I guess it depends where you want to add it. I wont use all 20, but I like having the option of which ones to use. There is less than $30 between the most and least expensive. I'm excited!
