Why did the SC die in the press.

I was reading a review of the 2010 SC which echoed the Top Gear famous review. In short it is ugly, boring, slow, and. A complete failure. I then looked back at the reviews from 02 from all the big names and the car is praised for style comfort and performance. I know 8 years has allowed the competition to move forward while we stood still, but how did we go from great to hated? "The most boring 5.8 seconds to 60". In 02 the reviews loved this car that had to be ordered off the boat? In 02 we are better than an SL500 in 06 they perfer the Tiberon? What happened?

You can get a cool car that has marginal performance, great reliability, elegant styling, a convertible to boot, all for less than $20k. It's one of the best values out there in a used car.
You have to be satisified with the lackluster performance if you were expecting a sports car, and the inability to do anything about it. Most people that buy it are satisfied - the others sell and move on.
Or, as we see more and more on here, guys are modding the exterior, wheels, drop, etc. and coming up with some real distinct looks. Couple that with an awesome standard interior, and you have a sweet ride. The depressed value puts this car in the range of younger guys that may want to put their personal touches on this car, and they get to start with an awesome platform. That's a good thing.
