Alright in this thread we will chat about the next SC, the 3SC which will likely debut in 2012 as a 2013 model.
Okay....well we know that Lexus will have the SC sit out a year before the new one debuts again, like they did with the 1SC to 2SC.
I am hearing rumors that Lexus wants a piece of the 4 door coupe
pie and that there is a chance the next SC maybe offered as a 2 door and 4 door. Think Benz CL and CLS competitor. Thanks MP.![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Also strong rumors of it having a hybrid powertrain as an option or maybe even standard. Lexus will continue to lead with hybrids and the next generation of Lexus hybrid tech is around the corner, expect a significant break through for them to get more MPG.
Now what is confusing is I also am hearing that a sub LFA type car may come in the 100-150kso range using some of the tech form the LFA. No idea on engines or anything yet. Will this be a version of the SC (SC F) or an entirely new car?

I don't like the idea of calling a 4-door "coupe" an SC. Personally, I think the 4-door coupe craze is nuts, I won't ever buy one. The Porsche and Aston Martin 4-door coupes are awful in my eyes.
Howevr, I am anxiously waiting for the next gen. SC "V8" convertible. I love the 2010 SC, but think it is getting behind the competition in regards to V8 power and feature content. As long as Lexus gives up on the soft, somewhat boring "L-finnesse" design language, I will be happy. Maybe this is why I like the current SC430 so much, it is old enough where it has not recieved the same theme as the rest of Lexus's lineup.

I know this isn't a 'purist' view, but I hope the next gen SC has a direct-injection four-cylinder coupled w/electric motors at all four corners. This setup could easily pump out 350+ horsepower in a small, lightweight package, and still deliver 20+mpg. This is the future of high-performance automobiles (for now).
As for the top, I really hope they keep the hardtop-convertible configuration; I live in the midwest and enjoy the hardtop in the winter.
With regard to styling, the current gen SC's lines broke the mold when it was first introduced, and I hope Lexus will come out with another unique design that'll no doubt be copied by Infiniti, Hyundai, etc. (which is the highest form of complement).
Oh yeah, and it should be a REAL two-door coupe, with tiny little back seats.
