Default Luggage capacity!!!!!

OK-Went shopping today-2 pair of New Balance shoes size 13. I do have the factory spare kit. With the roof down, trunk capacity is ONE shoebox, NOT TWO. LOL!

Have you ever gone shopping and forgot you drove your SC? Me too, but fortunately, my goods have always fit in the back seat. To keep things clean, I keep two of the Lexus throws in the trunk that match the interior. Can't tell you how many times they been used.

Any other good stories?

John

know what you mean, solman.
one day out and about in the 430, I veered into the local nursery and after a lot of milling around,
ended up picking up several plants and two bags of fertilizer.
two hours later, I arrived back home with the stuff in my truck.
ooph.

Maybe I am being dense, but what are Lexus throws?

I bought a 76-key Casio keyboard and THAT was a challenge to get from Maryland to my home in Virginia!

I was out with a friend when I bought the keyboard on an impulse. So, it was 2 adults...plus the keyboard. Had to put it in the trunk with almost half of it sticking out, and bungee corded the trunk lid down.

Once I dropped my friend off, it was easy enough to put it in the passenger seat...but with 2 adults, space for odd-shaped objects is very limited!

Default These are throws

2 thin small blankets that are the perfect size for the SC's back seat. Bought them on Ebay 2 years ago. I think I paid about $20. They came with the Lexus logo and I have seen them in the Lexus dealers store as well (whole lot cheaper on ebay). The wife sewed the bands to hold them rolled up, since ebays did not come with a band like at the dealer. They are always in my trunk in the cargo net, so if I need them-I got them. Great protection for the seats when you got to load them up.

Here they are rolled up in the trunk, by the seats, and spread out. Very useful. Also make sure you have a huge hefty trash bag in case of flat without trashing your interior? Learned that one on this forum.

I had to open the roof half way to get it in but a 27" Imac fits in the back seat. Top up I can make a full run to Costco, and I take the kids to the park bikes in the back seat top down. Only thing I ever had a problem with was a heavy co-worker. She got in the back sideways, but I had to bring the top down to get her out.

I put a Japanese Maple tree in my 2002. Home Depot $129. Drove under 30mph home less than five miles to make sure I didn't loose too many leaves. Put the top down, pushed seat all the way back, put several towels on the seat and drove with one arm holding the tree trunk and one on the steering wheel! Who needs a trunk when you got the entire front seat!

Why? Might you ask did I do that intead of putting in my FX35 SUV? Because the FX35 can't fit CRAP in it for a SUV!!!!! Seriously, you wanna talk about limited cargo room-try putting anything in the back of a 09+ FX35!!! What a PITA

Ebony wouldn't dare get a tree in the front seat with her pretty red leather though!

BTW-Solman-love the throws! Did you sew the logos on them yourself? Do you get some tea and biscotti with that and a pedicure? LOL

SC Droptop--Logos came with the throws. The only difference between ebay and the dealer store was the bands and double the price.

My wife and I picked up a set of wire shelving. The box just barely (with a little help) fit between the speakers in the back seat. Another time I picked up some 8' fluorescent light bulbs. Had to have the top down on that one.

I always put my golf bag in the front seat, have throws handy for the rear seat, and yes, always a big leaf bag in case of a flat! Surprisingly, I squeezed it in the first aid kit !
