Hmm! If you hear the beep when you hold the memory button and the set button simultaneously, that means the ECU working properly. Try to move your seat to different position then push the memory button to see if the seat moves back. At last, reset the memory using the procedure above.

Hi, Thanks for the tip. All my memory buttons are fully functional. But I have another question. If my memory serves right, when I pulled out the key, the handle used to go up and the seat used to move backward for easy exit from the car. But now the handle goes up but the seat won't move backward. What did I miss?

Make sure you are in park with ignition ON. Assuming you are....
This sounds like the problem which occurs after power has been disconnected. The seats have to be "re-taught" their limits before the memory will work.
You should check your manual because I think different years have different procedures. Here's a couple posts from another thread:
What you have to do is move the seat back all the way forward using the power seat back switch until you hear a beep , then move the seat cushion back the entire way again using the power seat control, next move the seat cushion all the way forward using the power control. You can now put the seat in the position you desire and push set and #1.
1. Move the seat forward until you hear a beep.
2. Move the seat all the way back.
3. Move the seatback angle switch forward until you hear a beep
4. Move the seat back angle switch all the way reclined.
5. Set the memory now.

Found this post and voila!
Applied this process and it worked like a charm!!!!!!
Thanks!!!!

I think it should be mentioned that you may have to disconnect the battery for at least 3 minutes, then reconnect battery. After battery is reconnected, put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position. Then, move driver seat to the most forward position and you hear a beep, then move driver seat back to the most forward position and hear a beep. Do the same thing to the passenger side seat. Now you can program the seats to be in your preferred position.
I tried the above without disconnecting the battery and it did not work. Then I tried it by disconnecting the battery and it worked like a charm. Thanks to all who have posted on the topic, it gave me the nudge I needed to find a solution to my "broken seat memory" issues.

I have a 2005 in order to set your seat memory you have to turn the key on move the driver seat forward as far as it will go till you hear a beep, then move the seat Rearwood till you hear a beep, then move the seat back as far as it will go, and then move it forward as far as it will go. I’m talking about the button that allows you to change the seat then you should be able to program the seats

Thanks for putting this thread together. Just got a 2005 sc430 with 35,000 miles. Dealer had replaced the dead battery with a new one. Guessing that is why the buttons stopped working. Followed the steps and can happily report that they now are working! Hope all my problems are resolved so easily as this one was.
