m3nv: Assume you're considering OEM. You should probably give your dealer a call to see what the cost is - Although I haven't crossed this bridge yet myself I've heard about $100+ from Lexus dealers and $80-ish from Toyota dealers (each). Some folks have found them on line. Somewhere in one of the forum discussions I found a thread that stated '02 SCs require 4 different colored sensors and I will research that further if one of mine fails on the SC. Keep in mind that you also may end up paying for dismounting and re-balancing a tire to get the sensor installed. The installation cost should include registering the new TPMS transmitter.

I forget who it was in a previous similar thread (JohnnyCake?) mentioned running into the same thing. He had a dealer fix one, tried to have them change them all but they wouldn't. Drove away and wound up coming back fairly soon to have another one fixed. I think he wound up having all four changed out before they were done, as they died one by one.

Yes there are four color coded TPMS Valve sensor. When replacing them (not just the battery) you should replace them color for color. In other words red for red, white for white, blue for blue and gold for gold. Otherwise you'd get two confusing signals to the system.
