Default PWR ECT won't engage

Hi,

I used to have a GS430. It's been sold couple months ago and now I am a very happy owner of a 2003 SC430. Still learning a lot from you all.

This is the first thing to take care of, the ECT button. It works for the SNOW mode. Press and the indicator will lit and stay on the dash. However, pressing the PWR mode, it will lit but it will go off as soon as you let go of the button. It just won't stay. So, no sure it is just in my head, it feels different when pressing the SNOW side than the PWR side.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,

Mav

Congrats!!!! Welcome! I think you are the third or fourth newbie in the last week or so on the forum. Please post some pics of your car. Regarding your question...

Should stay lit up. Mine says ECT PWR on two lines. Perhaps your ECT bulb is burnt out on the dash?

The button should stay in that position though. Are you saying that it pops back on you? When I toggle the button it stays on either snow or power and doesn't move. Are you saying yours doesn't...or the light doesn't? Please clarify.

Thanks!

The ECT PWR does lit up on the dash, it just won't stay lit. So the bulb is probably still ok.

"The button should stay in that position though." That's a good description. Mine pops back to the neutral position once I let go. Perhaps the button is gone.
