Default PDR on SC Aluminum Roof Panel

Anyone have any experience getting PDR work done on the SC roof?

From the previous ownership I inherited what I presume was the result of opening the convertible roof with some object in the trunk. It's small but noticeable to ME so I want it gone. It's on the edge outside the main part of the roof above the driver's door (not on the roof crease) so I think it's probably workable by the right technician. But since it's aluminum I suspect it's a different animal than the average Chevy roof panel. What are the considerations and what is your experience? Should I just leave it alone? Thanks for any counsel.

I had a couple of dings reduced or removed on the front fenders and was very happy with the result, but not the retractable roof. I suppose you'd have to weigh removing the interior garnish pieces so the technician could get their tools up in there to work it out versus the expected end result. In the case of my fender, the technician promised 95-98% reduction in the dent. Which, in my mind, was a 100% improvement.

Some time ago my wife got caught in a bad hailstorm (one of the benefits of living in the Midwest) and her car was really battered. The body shop subbed most of the work out to PDR specialists and the damage was virtually undetectable afterwards. They didn't damage the headliner or any interior trim. So I'm absolutely an advocate of PDR, just know that there's not that much aluminum out there and most guys don't work on it everyday. Plus the garnish clips on my SC are 10 years old and possibly brittle. I may get an estimate or two and get a feel for the shops' experience.

The neighbor's kid put a nice dent in my roof with a football. I bought a kit off eBay, which was suction cups and a pliable adhesive strip. Popped the dent right out no damage to the paint. So far I have been pretty lucky with these kits. Fixed front chips with dr color chip, repaired a tear in the seat with a eBay leather repair kit and a matching paint. You might want to try the DIY first, the roof panel is very thin and easy to pop out.

I've had PDR to my roof before on my 02. It was on the strip closer to the window that's about 4" wide before the main panel. It was easy for him to take out. $25 and a free car wash!

Not sure where you are at in KS, but Schofield Lexus was always good to me in Wichita when I lived there. Kellogg/Webb I think? I haven't lived there since 96. Lots has changed.

That's where my LS430 came from, they still seem to be good people. I think my brother got charged exactly 25.00 by a guy in Wichita a couple of weeks ago to take a ding out of the hood.

I am familiar with Scholfield in Wichita. I think I'm looking at a little more than $25 in KC area but it's encouraging that results have been good. Just need to find the right place. Thanks for all your responses.
