Default Dual Action Polisher by Meguiar's

Thinking of getting the GV110v2 polisher and some polishing lubricants. To help me decide on the lubricants, can you guys tell me what type of paint the SC430 has- as in soft or hard paint?

Has anyone tried powered polishers on their SC430? If so, please share your thoughts and recommendations Thanks!

I have only used a PC polisher with my SC430.
I am a bit picky when it comes to my polishes and waxes.

I generally used Menzerna products to prep the paint, then Pinnacle Sounveran or Signature Series II depending on dark or light colors. A sealant could also be used. I have used Nattys in a pinch but prefer Pinnacle.

Pads are important, invest in a nice set of pads and pad cleaner.

Paint is very soft like all Japanese cars as its water based.

I use the dual action G220 Megs and think its fantastic. If your a novice Id say stick to a dual action so you dont burn the paint rather then a PC. The PC are very popular out your way but not so practical for me as I would need an inverter as well.

And I use mainly Menzerna as well, which again I cant fault.

This is the kit I bought.

The Porter Cable 7424 XP polisher is what I use with Lake Country 5.5 Inch CCS Pads. Mequiars polish and Zaino finish products

I am really happy to hear this. I bought the G220 a few months ago but haven't used it. I have been busy lately.....but may be I was afraid too. Is there anything special one needs to do or take certain precautions to avoid damaging the paint? The paint does not need a lot of work....just want to take out minor scratches from certain spots. May be apply a light buff to the whole car. I have Megs polishing and finishing pads as well as Zaino's Z-PC (also Z-2 and ZFX). Is this sufficient?

Thanks.

TBH I think you cant go wrong with a g220 just by its nature its not aggressive even when you turn the speed up. But obviously keep the speed down if your new.

Hard paint with bad defects I would consider a PC, but I did Range Rover with my G220. Guess it just takes longer.
